MARSEC COE and Piri Reis University in İstanbul co-hosted "International Conference on Strategic Importance of Maritime Transportation & Maritime Security Conference" on 22 April 2015 in Piri Reis University Conference Hall.

On his keynote speech, Director of MARSEC COE, Radm (LH) Cihat YAYCI, Ph.D. made a presentation on "Maritime Security & The Role of Navies to Ensure Free Flow of Maritime Transportation".

• Maritime Security Risks
• Maritime Terrorism
• Piracy and Armed Robbery
• International Cooperation
• Maritime Security Operations
• Cooperation with Law Enforcement
• Cooperation with other Navies
• Activities of MARSEC COE.

Two sessions were held during the conference, and additionally, Deputy Director of MARSEC COE Capt.(N) Sümer KAYSER made a speech on "MARSEC COE Maritime Security Projects and Activities" and Transformation Department Head of MARSEC COE Capt. (N) Mahmut KARAGÖZ made a speech on "Global Maritime Situational Awareness".

In total, 167 personnel participated in this activity from public institutions and universities in Turkey.
