EXER MARSEC-15
Multinational Maritime Security Exercise-2015 (EXER MARSEC-15), was conducted as a multinational exercise between 21 - 27 October 2015 and hosted by Turkey in conjunction with NATO TRIDENT JUNCTURE-2015 Exercise in Aksaz Naval Base/Marmaris. A total of 145 national and international participants joined the exercise.
Aim of the exercise was to enhance maritime security focusing on strategic, operational and tactical aspects of Maritime Security Operations to improve awareness, cooperation and interoperability among maritime security stakeholders as well as developing leading guidelines on multinational and multiagency engagement for maritime security challenges.
Exercise comprised of four phases. First phase was the Force Integration Training Phase including scenario related workshops, briefings and a reception given by MARSEC COE Director. Second phase was the CPX which took 3 days to complete and included WMD, irregular migration and pollution scenarios. Third phase was the LIVEX conducted on 26 October 2015. LIVEX scenarios were related to non combatant evacuation operations and maritime terrorism. Exercise was concluded with the after action review meeting which was held on 27 October 2015.
