International Sea Power & Security Symposium was held on 13 - 14 April 2016 at Turkish War Colleges Command in İstanbul, Turkey with the theme "Collaboration for Maritime Security".

Aim of the symposium was to bring together leading international / national military and civilian experts, commanders, academicians and policy makers from a wide range of countries. Throughout the symposium, open exchange of ideas served to enhance cooperation with other countries' naval war colleges, joint command and staff colleges, defence colleges, universities, and institutes.

The event consisted of four sessions dedicated to different facets of the theme;

• Global Maritime Security Environment.
• Roles of Navies and Other Organizations on Maritime Security.
• Macro Economic Dimension of Maritime Domain.
• Legal Aspects of Maritime Security.
