The Maritime Security Centre of Excellence (MARSEC COE) successfully held its “Comprehensive Maritime Security Operations Course” in person at the MARSEC COE premises from 25 November to 6 December 2024. The course aimed to provide a comprehensive approach to Maritime Security, Maritime Security Operations (MSO), and its associated tasks, as outlined in the NATO MSO Concept (MC 0588). Topics covered included its history, law, concepts, doctrines, challenges, operations planning, and other aspects by analyzing challenges, risks, and threats on regional and global scales, along with their potential impacts on Alliance security. A total of 55 lecturers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and attendees from 14 different countries (Azerbaijan, Estonia, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Mauritania, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, and the United States) participated in the event in person.
