As part of the NATO-Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI) Regional Centre and Defense Capacity Building Initiative, the MARSEC COE's Mobile Education And Training Team, delivered a Maritime Counter-Terrorism tailored course in Kuwait from 17 to 21 November 2025. The training aimed to enhance the maritime security capabilities of the Arabian Gulf nations.

The course brought together 14 participants from the navies, coast guards, and various agencies of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain. The course programme, combined theoretical sessions on Maritime Situational Awareness (MSA), Counter-Terrorism Operations, Maritime Security Law, and Interagency Coordination with a practical Tabletop Exercise (TTX) focused on two distinct maritime counter-terrorism scenarios.
