Maritime Counter Terrorism Course 2026

Maritime Counter Terrorism Course (NATO Approved Course) which is going to be carried out as Virtual/Asynchronous format from 19th to 23th October 2026 by the Maritime Security Centre of Excellence (MARSEC COE).

The course aims to provide participants with a comprehensive, NATO-aligned understanding of Maritime Counter-Terrorism within a Multi-Domain Security Environment, enabling them to analyze threats, assess risks, and contribute to operational, strategic, and policy-level responses in the maritime domain.

The course will be conducted in English. Translation to/from other languages will not be provided. Attendees should meet the following standards of proficiency in English (as described in STANAG 6001/SLP 2222): Listening – Fair (2), Speaking – Fair (2), Reading – Fair (2) and Writing – Fair (2).

In order to reach more people and provide alternative training solutions to NATO, this course will be conducted virtually/asynchronously. Participants will be informed about technical instructions in due time.

The main target audience is Navy/Coast Guard Personnel and equivalent civilian staff working on military HQs or units, or governmental departments and other non-governmental/international bodies from NATO Member and Partner (PfP, ICI, MD and PatG) Nations.

The course is marked as “Unclassified / Releasable to Partnership for Peace (PfP), Mediterranean Dialogue (MD), Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI), Partners across the Globe (PatG).”
