5th Maritime Security Conference

MARSEC COE successfully hosted the 5th Maritime Security Conference on 24-25 June 2025 in Istanbul, Türkiye, under the theme: "The Impact of Technology on Maritime Security."

The conference welcomed 255 participants from 22 different countries, including senior military leaders, academics, and maritime security experts, who convened to examine how technological advancement is reshaping the maritime domain.

We were deeply honoured by the attendance of Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu, PhD, Commander of the Turkish Naval Forces, whose presence underscored the importance of National and Allied commitment to innovation at sea.

Our Academic Adviser, Prof Dr. Raul PEDROZO, contributed valuable perspectives on the integration of emerging technologies, NATO-wide interoperability, and future capability development.

Within the scope of the conference, the opportunities offered by technology and the associated challenges were thoroughly addressed across a wide range of domains, including autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, cyber resilience, and data-driven maritime situational awareness.

The conference once again confirmed MARSEC COE’s role as a hub of maritime knowledge, operational collaboration, and strategic foresight.
