Comprehensive Maritime Security Operations Course

“Comprehensive Maritime Security Operations Course”, which is going to be carried out in person from 25th November to 06th December 2024 at the premises of Maritime Security Centre of Excellence (MARSEC COE) İstanbul/TÜRKİYE.

This course aims to provide a comprehensive approach to Maritime Security, Maritime Security Operations (MSO), and its tasks, as they are articulated in NATO MSO Concept (MC 0588), including its History, Law, Concepts, Doctrines, Challenges, Operations Planning, and other aspects, through analysing challenges, risks, and threats on regional and global scale and their potential impacts on Alliance Security.

Training Audience is the Navy/Coast Guard Personnel/ non-Navy staff who are likely to be engaged in Maritime Security Operations and other maritime security issues. Participants should be OF-1 to OF-6, OR-6 to OR-9 and equivalent civilian staff from NATO Member and Partnership for Peace (PfP) (except Russia, Belarus), Mediterranean Dialogue (MD), Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI), Partners across the Globe (PatG) Countries.

The course will be conducted in English. Translation to/from other languages will not be provided. Attendees should meet the following standards of proficiency in English (as described in STANAG 6001/SLP 2222): Listening – Fair (2), Speaking – Fair (2), Reading – Fair (2) and Writing – Fair (2).

The course is marked as “Unclassified / Releasable to Partnership for Peace (PfP), Mediterranean Dialogue (MD), Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI), Partners across the Globe (PatG).”
